Insurance Cover

Phoenix Walking Club is covered for Public Liability insurance. This covers club members against risks of being sued by a member of the public (or another club member) for injury or death of a third party (or club member), or damage to a third party’s (or club member’s) property.

It is not a personal insurance, accident or travel insurance. It does not cover rescue, medical expenses, emergency assistance or damage to or loss of property belonging to members.

It does not cover club members for personal injury or damage to or loss of property while using the club’s hired coaches.

The insurance applies to activities organised by the club and clearly advertised as such, including walks, social activities and club meetings.

If any club members are organising their own activities, independent of the club and out of the control of the management committee, then no cover will apply.

For club members to be covered by the insurance, their membership subscriptions should be paid within a reasonable time of the start of the subscription year, and certainly by the beginning of February.
