Making a Booking
Bookings at North Shields library
You can come to see us North Shields Library on Wednesdays which are not walk days or Bank Holidays. You will find us in the conference room on the first floor.
We will be taking bookings there, by cash and cheque, between 10:30am & 11:30am .
Bookings, by cash or cheque, can be made between the above times. Before or after those times bookings will only be taken at the discretion of the booking secretary.
Each member can normally make bookings for themselves and one other member.
Complete one form per person to help the booking process. You can get a supply of forms, and a walk programme, at the library. Alternatively print some off, in advance, from the downloads page of this site.
List the date and destination of all the walks you want on the one form. You should also circle/highlight your preferences for bus pickup point and for your favourite walk distance.
As your bookings are made the system will send you two emails. The first to confirm the bookings requested shortly followed by a second confirming payment. Check these carefully. Human error can occur (wrong entries on forms, typing errors etc.) so please ensure that the right name appears at the top, the desired walks have been booked and that the bus and pickup points are correct.

Members can book walks online, and pay by direct debit using GoCardless, until the day before the walk date. To book in this way, click on the WebCollect ikon.

Standby
If you have not booked a walk before booking is closed, normally the evening prior to the walk, it is possible to turn up on the day at Monkseaton or North Shields, subject to there being space on the bus. Payment for the walk can be made to the bus monitor by cash, cheque, or, if you have already set up a direct debit, through WebCollect. If paying by cash, please have the correct money available, as bus monitors do not carry change. If you want to pay by direct debit, you will be asked to sign an authority for the club to action this for you. This will only be processed on the booking day (Wednesday) following the walk. You will receive an email confirmation of your paymet after processing.
WebCollect booking system
You can use the WebCollect calendar to check on availability of seats on buses and also to book seats if you have activated your e-mail address.
On-line booking is done via the direct debit system using GoCardless.
Neither the club, nor WebCollect, has any access to your banking details.
When paying by GoCardless for the first time it can take up to 10 days for the payment to be fully processed. However you will receive email confirmation when appropriate. Your walk will be booked immediately you place your order.
Cancelling a Booking
If you find that for some reason that you can’t go on a walk that you have already booked then please let the booking secretary know, if possible, so that your seat can be sold to another member. No refunds are issued except in special circumstance such as funerals and hospital appointments. If you change you mind later, e.g. if your visitors can’t come, then you can be reinstated on the walk if there is space.
Walks can not be transferred to other members.
If for any reason the club cancels a walk then credits will be given.
