Organisation of casual walks

A number of variations in the government’s rules covering meetings between individuals have been tried. As of now, 13th Sept, 2021 there are no legal restrictions in force.  A number of groups within the club are taking advantage of this opportunity.

Arrangements differ between groups and some of these are included here.  Please contact the leaders directly so as to avoid too many turning up for a walk unexpectedly.

The basic guidance covering these walks is:-

  • the maximum number on a walk will be fifteen in line with the club’s normal guidance,
  • face coverings should be worn if public transport is used
  • walkers should carry hand sanitiser for use at styles and gates
  • a 2 m distance between walkers should be maintained as much as possible
  • food and utensils should not be shared

Publishing of new walks

The longer distance walks (organised by Dave Whiteley along with Steve Wood, Charles Bragg, Bill Milbourne, Tim van Zwanenberg and Iain Kitt) coordinate their activities on a Tuesday evening for the following week.  If you wish to be kept informed then contact Dave Whiteley at davewhiteley33@gmail.com.  An email is normally sent to regular walkers on the Tuesday.

Other walks are updated for notification to all members (i.e. those for which we hold valid email addresses) on a Friday morning.
